I hear a lot of:
but I don't trust myself to exercise when it feels good...I NEED a strict schedule.
I can't trust myself to have any chocolate in the house without eating it ALL!!
I have no idea what's good for me. How can I trust myself to make that decision?
Most people are not understanding what self-trust IS.
Self-trust is not about knowing that you'll always make the right decision. Or that you have all the right answers.
Self-trust is about knowing that you will ALWAYS BE FINE, no matter what decision you make.
You can handle it. You will survive and you'll show compassion for yourself, no matter what.
Self-trust means that you can take care of your needs and safety, as issues arise, in the best way you know how.
Ultimately, self-trust is a practice of kindness, not perfection or knowing.
